Well it’s about time I found this little notebook! I’ve been meaning to update it as soon as me and the boys got back. This past month has been pretty hectic not to mention some close calls in the air. Surprisingly, things have been pretty quiet this week; word has it that our next destination is France. Due to the weather complications, all flights have been postponed. Further briefing will be notified as soon as the weather clears up. How lovely… Speakin’ of the weather yesterday was pretty foggy and today featured a brief shower of rain.

Elizabeth loves the rain, wish I was with you sweetie.

Well times are tough, and nobody wants to get their hands dirty. But hey, who’s gotta put bread on the table? Who’s gonna make sure that the Father’s children rest peacefully tonight? *laugh* I suppose that’s why I’m here. I mean…I’m not complainin’… and I knew what I was getting myself into when I joined the force… I just miss my family back home. Elizabeth and Martha are what’s keepin’ this spirit burning with the passion to fight. I’m not the only one. Jeffry here hopes to return to his family this Christmas…Lucky boy.

The Luftwaffe forces are pushin’ harder than ever. Every mission makes my heart beat out of my chest. It’s not that I’m afraid of death it’s being away from my wife and child that puts down my spirits. But I got nothing to fear. With Faith and the strength of my fellow comrades we got each other’s backs covered.

Things aren’t as bad as they seem. I enjoy my job as right gunner and I love the roar of the Luftwaffe in the morning! It’s one of the very few things that keeps my hands gripping tight around the turret control. Of course war ain’t fun “War is NEVER fun” but someone’s gotta take out the trash. *laugh *

Well Thanksgivin’ is coming up and I’m gonna be busy with work…Again. (sigh) I feel ashamed of myself, and I shouldn’t be but I was kinda hoping to see Martha after this recent mission. I long to be next to the dear love of my life. I just hope God in Heaven is watchin’ over her as the Good Lord is watchin’ over me. I already sent word to her bout’ Thanksgiving. Sad to say but I can’t make any promises this time of the year. Christmas is ,I’m afraid, out of the option as well. As for Elizabeth, I might be able to catch up in time for her 9th birthday.

God willing, I hope to return home in one piece.
